The material in this section is common knowledge among biochemists, endocrinologists, and some nutritionists.  The medical research has been done, and the abstracts of the results are all available on the internet and in libraries, if one just takes the time to do the research.  This is how I found all of the attached information.  References are provided in most cases.  Some of it is my own work, some the work of others who have pioneered in this field. I will clearly state which pieces are not my work, and I will make every effort to name and/or locate the true authors of articles that are not by me.

What you are about to read is 180 degrees opposed  to current “wisdom” and what the ADA and the AHA have been preaching about for the last thirty-five years. 

I have my own suspicions about why doctors (who supposedly have their patients' best interests at heart)  would choose a course that is completely opposite to the known facts of good nutrition, but choose it they have, and Americans are all paying for it in diet-induced illnesses which are increasing at an unheard-of rate.  No wonder health-care costs are so high.  (Have you ever heard of any other country in the world that is so overmedicated, has so many diseases, and spends so many billions of dollars on "health" care?)  The reason so much of this is going on in the U.S. is that no other country has so much money to spend on medical care.  The drug manufacturers and the medical industry know this and behave accordingly. 

Isn't it interesting?  All of the advances in research, technology, medical science, molecular biology, and nutrition, and we are still producing 13-year-old Type 2 diabetics, Crohn's Disease, and other disastrous, life-threatening and long-term disorders BECAUSE we eat a diet not fit to be fed to pigs. (Pigs also die when fed the human "Standard American Diet")

Adult obesity is growing at an alarming rate; over 600% in the last 30 years; never before have so many American children been so fat; Type II diabetes, heart and blood pressure disease are diagnosed at younger and younger ages, and are increasing at a rate that exactly parallels the introduction of two major changes in American diets:  

1. The CARBOHYDRATE CONTENT in the modern American diet is currently more than 65% and comes from questionable sources, such as many forms of sugar and  flours; and,  

2. The LOSS OF RED MEAT and good natural saturated fats from the diet.  When Americans stopped eating butter and lard or drinking whole raw milk, and began substituting margarine, shortening, pasteurized skim milk and vegetable oils, the corresponding rise in heart disease, high blood pressure and diabetes Type II began. 

During the 60-year period from 1910 to 1970, the proportion of traditional animal fat in the American diet declined from 83% to 62% of calories consumed, and butter consumption plummeted from 18 pounds per person per year to less than 4 pounds. This was only until 1970. Since that time, another 40-odd years of diet-tampering by the FDA/food giants has produced a deadly diet consisting of 2/3 carbohydrates; a diet which replaces natural, saturated animal-source fatty acids with refined soybean and corn oils loaded with trans fats and polyunsaturated fatty acids, and a witch's brew of chemicals and additives.  How these hacks can get away with deliberately replacing a healthy, growth/fertility-supportive natural and historical diet with item after item of synthetic, chemicalized and manufactured placebos is beyond me. How they can sleep at night is an even deeper mystery.

The percentage of dietary vegetable oils in the form of margarine, shortening and refined oils increased about 400% while the consumption of sugar and processed foods increased by 600% since 1970.  The use of natural fats has declined even further between 1970 and the present to an all-time disastrous low, while the use of sugar in all its forms has increased a thousand percent over its pre-1900 level!  Refined sugar in some form is found in virtually every container of prepared food on the market, as is hydrogenated (trans-) vegetable fat from whatever source. 

Wherever primitive societies have remained on their ancient diets, there are NO instances of any of the above-mentioned disorders--with NO exceptions; but wherever primitive societies have switched to the "white diet" (polished rice, bleached flour, white sugar, skimmed, pasteurized milk, and hydrogenated vegetable oils, margarine, and shortening), every single one of the problems has arisen in less than 20 years.  BUT...if the tribes switch back to their old diets, the symptoms--heart disease, diabetes, high blood pressure, and obesity--actually remitted quickly. 

A high-carbohydrate diet (more than 75 grams of carbohydrates per day) is a severe immune-system compromiser and antagonist.  Sugar cripples the immune system, quite simply.  In the years since nutrient-dense diets have been replaced by high-sugar and -starch diets, the virulence of communicable diseases has risen.  This is a good indicator that immune response is compromised and debilitated.  

I am not writing these things to get even with any medical professional, but to tell you the truth about our bodies and how they process the food we put into them, and how futile it is to rely on chemical medications for relief of symptoms brought on by a faulty and dangerous diet.  

If you think an anti-cholesterol drug, an anti-hypertension drug, and a baby aspirin every day are going to protect you from future heart attacks, you are in for a very painful and shocking surprise if you continue to eat a sugar-, flour-, and hydrogenated oil-loaded diet.
