CARBOHYDRATE POISONING

Don't let anyone tell you that carbohydrates are a vital part of the human diet, because it's simply not true.  As a matter of fact, since the medical establishment has put so much emphasis on a high-carbohydrate, low-fat and -protein diet, the percentage of obese people in America has tripled.  If the high-carbohydrate diet is so healthful and beneficial, why are so many people eating the recommended high-starch diet suddenly becoming overweight or having to fight so hard to maintain their best weight?  Why are so many people becoming ill and dying from diet-induced illnesses?  Why are children so fat and sick, and so many young people being diagnosed with diabetes?  Why, suddenly, are so many pregnant women having Caesarian section deliveries?  The average woman should have no problem with a normal delivery.  And the average person should not have to run every other day or exercise every night to maintain a weight level.

We are not born to be fat, and if we aren't pumped full of carbohydrates all our lives from the time we're put on a commercial sugar-based formula as a substitute for breast milk, we'll have no problem maintaining a healthy normal weight.

But, what's the first food a mother gives her baby after she takes it off the breast?  Sweetened, homogenized, pasteurized skimmed cow’s milk, which is not only highly indigestible for babies, but is loaded with carbohydrates and is a proven cause of earaches and sore throats in infants and in older children as well.  Next in the child's nutrition comes the cereal, sweetened with juice, sugar, or honey before it even gets to your table, where it is sweetened once more and floated in blue and watery pasteurized skim or 2% milk.

By the time the baby is big enough to walk, it is already seriously addicted to carbohydrates, and possibly has Candida overgrowth. From that time onward, it is fed "nutritious" snacks like fruit juice, pancakes and syrup, white bread, rice, piles of pasta, and cold cereal floating in more pasteurized, sweetened cow's milk. For treats, it gets Fruity O's, Lucky Charms, and Apple Jacks, and nice, nutritious raisins.

In primitive cultures, overweight, heart problems, diabetes, and high blood pressure are unknown.  Mothers wean their babies to traditional high-protein/fat diets.  No exceptions.  It's not until they are introduced to the Western high-carbohydrate, high-sugar and -starch diet that the problems begin.  By the time twenty years have passed, the primitive people who have begun to eat the "white diet" are well on their way to becoming as sick and obese as Westerners.  The next generation's children are born with bone deformities, especially in the head, including misshapen jaws that cause the crowding of permanent teeth, and cramped nasal passages.  Some have narrow faces which force the child to breathe through the mouth.  The following generation has mental deficiencies and long-bone problems, as well as facial deformities.  Generally, the third generation's children have become infertile.  In some cultures, untreated tuberculosis is common.

Americans and the British especially crave their sugar. (They also have the worst teeth in the world.)  The French, whose diet contains twice as much fat as the American diet, has less than half the heart and blood-pressure problems.  Americans eat six and a half times as much sugar as the French!  The French woman, whose diet is full of cream, butter, pate' de foie gras and cheeses, has the lowest heart-disease rate in the developed world.

Carbohydrate metabolism disorders are probably the most common illness in the United States.  You don't have to be old or frail to have them.  Little kids are sufferers, too--real victims, because they have the least to do with the diet they eat from day to day.  Parents or those who are responsible for the preparation of meals for small children should learn all they can about these disorders (let's just call it "carbohydrate poisoning") in order to prevent their appearance in the children under their care.  None of us would knowingly and deliberately infect our child with a crippling disease that could lead to an early death or debilitating problems later in life.  So why would we wish to feed these same children on diets that are guaranteed to induce not just one but numerous serious diseases, ranging from high blood pressure, heart disease, and high blood cholesterol to diabetic blindness, or amputation; or to heart disease and kidney failure?  This is exactly the consequence of a sugar-laden white diet.

Parents are in the best position to break this cycle of faulty diet/birth defects/diet-induced disease.  By starting before you have children and making sure your own nutrition is as nutrient-dense as you can possibly make it, then by eating carefully all through your pregnancy, you can assure that your children will be born healthy and beautiful.  By feeding your children carefully and responsibly from the time they are weaned from the breast, you give them a legacy of robust good health to take with them into handsome adulthood. By educating your children about the benefits of good dietary practices and the dangers of dietary poisons like refined sugars and oils, you equip them for a healthy life and for the proper health education of their own offspring.

It is obvious from the evidence reported elsewhere--not just on this webpage, but others dedicated to real nutrition--that the medical industry, the food giants, the agribusiness conglomerates, and the multinational corporations have very little interest in the real good nutrition of Americans, let alone other countries (where food products and medications which have been banned in the US are frequently "dumped," or fed to helpless and starving poor in those countries on a regular basis).

Keep this fact in mind when you are tempted to listen to and obey the "experts'" admonitions to eat the way they demand.
